Account Value is the current market value of your investments plus any cash held in your dub account. Account performance is calculated using a money weighted performance methodology which reflects the timing and size of cash flows into your account.
Portfolio Returns are calculated daily using a time-weighted return methodology. Time weighted return is a measure of performance that considers the impact of cash flow events on the returns generated by the asset during the period and eliminates the distorting effect on growth rates created by inflows and outflows of cash. Portfolio returns are gross of fees, excluding any transactional fees or platform fees associated with dub.
Buying Power Any funds immediately accessible for the purchase of securities on dub. This amount includes the settled cash from the sale of securities and any deposits made to your account, including up to $1,000 worth of deposits made the same day which have not yet settled.
Unsettled Cash Unsettled cash represents the proceeds from a security sale that have not yet completed the settlement process. Settlement takes one business day.
Withdrawable Cash Any Funds available to be transferred to your bank account. This includes the settled proceeds from the sale of securities or settled cash from deposits. It can take up to 2-5 days after a deposit for funds to settle.
Important Information
Portfolio names and descriptions
Portfolio names and descriptions are available to help users differentiate between portfolios and do not indicate the management style, strategy, or particular holdings in any given portfolio.
Copy
Copy is an innovative feature on dub that enables you to automatically mirror the actions and updates made by the creator of a portfolio you've copied in real time. This ensures your investment remains aligned with the original strategy in real-time.
Premium Portfolios
Users who Copy portfolios managed by DASTA Investments (“Premium Portfolios”) are authorizing DASTA Investments to exercise trading discretion to buy, sell and otherwise effect investment transactions for the portion of their account that they allocate to replicate the securities and weightings held in a Premium Portfolio. For more details, see DASTA Investments’ Form CRS, Form ADV Part II, your Customer Advisory Agreement and other disclosures.
DASTA Investments does not have the authority to dub or un-dub, follow or unfollow Premium Portfolios on your behalf. DASTA does not provide financial planning services or give tax or legal advice. DASTA Users are urged to consult with his or her own advisors or attorney(s) with respect to the legal, tax, regulatory, financial, and accounting consequences of an investment in any Premium Portfolio. Past performance does not guarantee future results.
User Portfolios
When you tap to Copy a User Portfolio, you are providing DASTA Financial with limited discretion to place orders in alignment with the portfolio you Copy. For each portfolio you copy, we provide a 3-month check-in to ensure that the copied portfolio continues to align with your investment goals. Users Portfolios created on the Dub app are the result of individual user choices and preferences. It's essential to understand the limitations and responsibilities associated with these portfolios.
- No Investment Advice: Users are expressly prohibited from providing investment advice through the Dub app. Portfolios created by users do not constitute recommendations for the purchase or sale of any security or portfolio.
- User Objectivity: Users create portfolios based on their own individual circumstances, preferences, and investment objectives. The portfolios may not align with the financial goals, risk tolerance, or time horizon of any other user.
- Non-Fiduciary Role: By creating portfolios, users are not acting in any capacity as an investment advisor, fiduciary, or registered representative. Dub does not endorse or validate the suitability of user-created portfolios for any specific individual.
- Educational Purpose: Portfolios on the Dub app are for educational and informational purposes only. They serve as a tool for users to explore and understand different investment strategies but should not be considered as personalized investment advice.
- Risk of Loss: All investments involve risk, and the past performance of any portfolio, strategy, or security does not guarantee future results. Users should carefully consider their own financial situation and consult with a qualified financial professional before making investment decisions.
- Independent Decision-Making: Users are encouraged to conduct their own research, seek independent advice, and carefully evaluate their financial goals before relying on any information provided on the Dub app. Dub does not assume any responsibility for the suitability, accuracy, or completeness of user-generated content.
- General Copy Risk: Since the primary information Users publish is their account activity, User could be trading ahead of you outside of the Dub app and get a better price than you are able to achieve. If a User is buying or selling a high enough volume of an issuer, that fact alone could move a security to a less favorable price for you.
Portfolio Index Value
The portfolio index value of a portfolio is derived from the underlying trading activity conducted by the portfolio creator and is hypothetical performance. These metrics are calculated by generating a return series based on the portfolio's trading activity. To enable comparisons among different user created portfolios over a specific time period, the returns are indexed to a starting value of 100. The indexing process involves normalizing each data point to the starting value of 100 while preserving the same percentage changes as in the non- indexed return series. Subsequently, the index returns are calculated in a manner that ensures the percentage changes in the indexed series mirror those of the non-indexed series. For instance, if a portfolio index is recorded as 130, it signifies a 30% return since its inception.
The US dollar is the currency used to express performance. All hypothetical performance information reflects past hypothetical performance and your actual returns will differ. Users should bear in mind that any past performance is not indicative of future results and there can be no assurance that you will achieve comparable results.
Portfolio Rebalancing
Rebalances will result in multiple transactions in some or all the stocks or ETFs in a portfolio. These transactions will have tax implications. Users should consult an accountant or tax attorney on tax matters as dub does not provide tax advice.
Leaderboard
The leaderboard displays the most copied portfolios, portfolios with the highest copying capital, and those with the highest returns as a way to explore publicly shared portfolios. This feature is for informational purposes only and does not constitute an endorsement or recommendation of any portfolio. Performance on the leaderboard reflects past results, which do not guarantee future returns. Users should conduct independent research and consider their own investment goals and risk tolerance before making any investment decisions.
Investment Risks
Investments in Securities are Not FDIC Insured, there is No Bank Guarantee, and May Lose Value. All investments involve inherent risks, and you should be prepared for the potential of losing money when you invest in securities. Investors should consider their own investment goals, risk tolerance, and financial situation before investing.
Exchange Traded Products
Users should consider the investment objectives, risks, and charges and expenses of any Exchange Traded Product (ETP), including any ETFs and any Exchange Traded Notes (ETNs) carefully before investing. The prospectus and, if available, the summary prospectus, contain this and other information about the ETP and should be read carefully before investing.
ETPs that are designed to provide investment results that generally correspond to the performance of their respective underlying indices may not be able to exactly replicate the performance of the indices because of expenses and other factors. ETP shares are bought and sold at market price, which may be higher or lower than their NAV. ETPs are required to distribute portfolio gains to shareholders at year end. These gains may be generated by portfolio rebalancing or the need to meet diversification requirements. ETNs are subject to the credit risk of the underlying issuer. If the issuer defaults on the note, investors may lose some or all of their investment. ETP trading will also generate tax consequences. Additional regulatory guidance on Exchange Traded Products can be found at the SEC website and at the FINRA website (here and here).
Leveraged and inverse ETPs may involve greater risk and not be suitable for all investors, particularly for buy-and-hold investors. Volatility linked ETPs pose special risks tied to market volatility that can significantly impact the pricing of the product and your ability to trade them during times of extreme market volatility. These types of ETPs generally reset daily and are not designed to, and will not necessarily, track the underlying index or benchmark over a longer period. Investing in such ETPs may increase exposure to volatility using leverage, short sales of securities, derivatives, and other complex investment.
