Account Value is the current market value of your investments plus any cash held in your dub account.
Daily Returns are calculated daily using a time-weighted return methodology.
Daily Leaderboards are calculated daily using a time-weighted return methodology. DASTA Users are ranked solely on the time-weighted return performance. Leaderboards are meant to provide a comparison to other DASTA Users on their portfolio’s performance. They are meant to encourage DASTA Users to intelligently evaluate their investment portfolio on a more frequent basis but are not meant to encourage more frequent trading or inappropriate risk taking, adverse to a DASTA User’s interest. Excessive trading and inappropriate risk taking do not lead to better results.
Time Weighted Return is a measure of performance that considers the impact of cash flow events on the returns generated by the asset during the period and eliminates the distorting effect on growth rates created by inflows and outflows of cash.
Important Information
Portfolio names and descriptions
Portfolio names and descriptions are available to help users differentiate between portfolios. Portfolio names and descriptions do not indicate the management style, strategy, or particular holdings in any given portfolio.
Portfolio Copy Trading
Copy Trading is the process whereby a User allocates a dollar value to proportionately replicate the holdings and weights of the creator of that portfolio.
Users who copy portfolios are sending self-directed orders to DASTA Financial to buy or sell securities in the same proportions as the creator of that portfolio. DASTA Financial will only accept orders for which there are sufficient funds or assets credited or due to the account on trade date.
Users who copy portfolios managed by DASTA Investments (“Premium Portfolios”) are authorizing DASTA Investments to exercise trading discretion to buy, sell and otherwise effect investment transactions in the name of their account for the portion of their account that they allocate to replicate the securities and weightings held in a Premium Portfolio. For more details, see DASTA Investments’ Form CRS, Form ADV Part II, your Customer Advisory Agreement and other disclosures.
DASTA Investments does not have the authority to dub or un-dub, follow or unfollow Premium Portfolios on your behalf. DASTA does not provide financial planning services or give tax or legal advice. DASTA Users are urged to consult with his or her own advisors or attorney(s) with respect to the legal, tax, regulatory, financial, and accounting consequences of an investment in any Premium Portfolio. Past performance does not guarantee future results.
Users are not permitted to provide investment advice or recommend the purchase or sale of any security and/or portfolio. Users create portfolios without regard to the individual circumstances and objectives of any User, and therefore, are not acting in any capacity as an investment advisor, fiduciary, or registered representative.
Copy Once
When you copy a portfolio, you are copying the existing holdings and weights of that portfolio. It's important to note that any subsequent changes made by the portfolio's creator will not automatically be reflected in your account. As a result, you are responsible for initiating rebalances to ensure that your portfolio stays in sync with the current holdings and weights of the original portfolio.
User Portfolio Index Performance
The portfolio index value of User’s portfolios is derived from the underlying trading activity conducted by the portfolio creator. These metrics are calculated by generating a return series based on the portfolio's trading activity. To enable comparisons among different user created portfolios over a specific time period, the returns are indexed to a starting value of 100.The indexing process involves normalizing each data point to the starting value of 100 while preserving the same percentage changes as in the non- indexed return series. Subsequently, the index returns are calculated in a manner that ensures the percentage changes in the indexed series mirror those of the non-indexed series. For instance, if a portfolio index is recorded as 130, it signifies a 30% return since its inception.
All Index Performance information reflected for a User's portfolio is hypothetical performance and your returns will differ. The US dollar is the currency used to express this hypothetical performance. Users should bear in mind that past performance is not indicative of future results and there can be no assurance that you will achieve comparable results.
Portfolio Rebalancing
Rebalances in portfolios will result in numerous transactions in many or all the stocks or ETFs in the portfolio which will have tax implications. Users should consult an accountant or tax attorney on tax matters as dub does not provide tax advice.
Investment Risks
Investments in Securities are Not FDIC Insured, there is No Bank Guarantee, and May Lose Value. All investments involve inherent risks, and you should be prepared for the potential of losing money when you invest in securities. Investors should consider their own investment goals, risk tolerance, and financial situation before investing.
Exchange Traded Products
Users should consider the investment objectives, risks, and charges and expenses of any Exchange Traded Product (ETP), including any ETFs and any Exchange Traded Notes (ETNs) carefully before investing. The prospectus and, if available, the summary prospectus, contain this and other information about the ETP and should be read carefully before investing.
ETPs that are designed to provide investment results that generally correspond to the performance of their respective underlying indices may not be able to exactly replicate the performance of the indices because of expenses and other factors. ETP shares are bought and sold at market price, which may be higher or lower than their NAV. ETPs are required to distribute portfolio gains to shareholders at year end. These gains may be generated by portfolio rebalancing or the need to meet diversification requirements. ETNs are subject to the credit risk of the underlying issuer. If the issuer defaults on the note, investors may lose some or all of their investment. ETP trading will also generate tax consequences. Additional regulatory guidance on Exchange Traded Products can be found at the SEC website and at the FINRA website (here and here).
Leveraged and inverse ETPs may involve greater risk and not be suitable for all investors, particularly for buy-and-hold investors. Volatility linked ETPs pose special risks tied to market volatility that can significantly impact the pricing of the product and your ability to trade them during times of extreme market volatility. These types of ETPs generally reset daily and are not designed to, and will not necessarily, track the underlying index or benchmark over a longer period. Investing in such ETPs may increase exposure to volatility using leverage, short sales of securities, derivatives, and other complex investment.
Search Categories
Search Categories are brought to you by dub. They are meant to allow users the ability to search and sort through Premium and User Portfolios. Search Categories are not a recommendation by dub to invest in any Premium or User Portfolio. Past Performance does not guarantee future results.
Dollar-Based Transactions and Fractional Shares
Apex through the App may report holdings and transactions in your account in terms of either U.S. Dollars or shares. Because of dollar-based transactions, you will hold fractional share interests in securities. Fractional share amounts are typically unrecognized and illiquid outside of the App.
Cash Management
Apex’s FDIC-Insured Sweep Program (the “Program”), is an added feature to your account. DASTA Financial and/or Apex may change, modify, delete, or replace the products in the Program from time to time in its/their discretion and that, in such case, you will receive advance notice as required by law. Balances held through the Program at Program Banks are insured by the FDIC up to the applicable limit, per Program Bank, but are not insured by SIPC.
SIPC Account Protection
DASTA Financial and Apex are members of the SIPC. Through SIPC funds are available to meet customer claims up to a ceiling of $500,000, including a maximum of $250,000 for cash claims. SIPC insurance does not protect against loss in the market value of securities. For additional information regarding SIPC coverage, including a brochure, please contact SIPC at (202) 371-8300 or visit www.sipc.org.
