While depositing funds to your dub account is usually straightforward, you might occasionally encounter issues.
Understanding Deposit Buffers
What is a Deposit Buffer?
A deposit buffer is a verification system we've implemented to protect both our customers and dub from potential insufficient funds returns. When you initiate a deposit, our system verifies that you have sufficient funds in your bank account, including a buffer amount.
This extra verification helps prevent failed transfers and rejected deposits, protects you from the $30 reversal fee that would apply if a deposit is reversed, and ensures a smoother deposit experience overall.
How the Buffer Works
- For deposits under $400, your bank account must have a minimum of $400 available — regardless of the deposit amount
- For deposits $400 and over, your bank account must have at least the deposit amount available
- This buffer amount is not charged or held — we only verify it exists
Examples:
- For a $100 deposit, you need at least $400 in your bank account
- For a $500 deposit, you need at least $500 in your bank account
Material Changes to Bank Accounts
