What Are Premium Portfolios?
Premium portfolios are managed by dub Advisors, LLC, an SEC-registered investment adviser. They’re monitored, rebalanced and risk-managed by dub Advisors. Core portfolios, by contrast, are self-directed and created by individual dub users.
There are two kinds of Premium portfolios:
- Creator strategies: portfolios built by dub creators and managed by dub Advisors. These show “Managed by dub Advisors” on the portfolio page.
- dub Advisors portfolios: strategies built by dub Advisors’ in-house team.
How “Managed by dub Advisors” Works
For creator strategies, the creator and dub Advisors each have a role.
The creator:
- Sets the investment objective of the model portfolio
- Updates the model portfolio (additions, removals, weight adjustments)
- Provides rebalance notes when updates occur
dub Advisors, LLC acts as your investment manager and fiduciary. dub Advisors:
- Reviews each update before any trades are placed, and may adjust or block trades that don’t meet its standards
- Places trades on behalf of all clients
- Oversees portfolio management and operations
- Reviews a strategy’s risk level against your investor profile, and may ask you to acknowledge a higher-risk strategy before investing
Fair execution:
- Everyone, including the creator, receives the same average execution price
- Trades are allocated proportionally across all account sizes
- No one can trade ahead of other investors
Finding Premium Portfolios
To see the current lineup, open the Discover tab and tap Premium. You can browse portfolios by category, such as Public Figures, Tech & AI, By Sector, Balanced, Big Bets, Real Economy, Model-Driven and Active. Portfolios can be added or retired over time, so the app always has the most up-to-date list.
Fees: Premium portfolios charge a management fee instead of a separate subscription. You’ll see each portfolio’s fee on its Overview page and again before you confirm your investment. For how the fee is calculated and billed, see dub Advisors: Management Fees.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will “Managed by dub Advisors” change how a creator’s portfolio performs?
The portfolio follows the same strategy from the creator. dub Advisors’ role is to implement it with oversight, not to change the strategy.
Can I copy these portfolios the same way?
Yes. The copying process is the same.
What happens if a Premium portfolio is liquidated?
dub Advisors may liquidate a portfolio when it becomes inactive or no longer aligns with its original investment strategy. If that happens, all of the portfolio’s holdings in your account are sold and the proceeds are returned to your buying power.
Can I sell at any time?
Yes. You can sell any portfolio at any time. If you’d rather not invest in managed strategies, you can choose Core portfolios or build your own.
