Management fees are charges that apply only to specific Premium Portfolios managed by dub Financial, LLC (dub Financial). These fees are separate from your dub subscription and compensate the portfolio managers for their expertise, strategy development, and ongoing portfolio management.
Important: Not all portfolios on dub charge management fees. Only certain Premium Portfolios managed by dub Financial include these fees.
Management Fee Basics
Which Portfolios Charge Management Fees?
Only a subset of professionally managed Premium Portfolios charge management fees. User-created portfolios and many Premium Portfolios have no additional fees beyond your subscription.
When you view a portfolio's details page, you can see whether it charges a management fee in the "Overview" section. Additionally, when you make your first investment in a portfolio with a management fee, you'll receive a clear notification before confirming.
How Management Fees Are Calculated
Management fees are:
- Calculated as a percentage of the market value of your investment in applicable Premium Portfolios
- Computed daily based on the closing value of your holdings
- Billed quarterly in arrears (after the service period)
- Based on market data from Polygon, our market data provider
Viewing and Understanding Your Fees
Where to Find Fee Information
You can view management fee information in several places:
- Portfolio Overview: The percentage fee is displayed in the "Overview" section of each portfolio page
- Monthly Statements: Fees charged to your account appear on your monthly statements
- Pre-Investment Notice: Before investing in a portfolio with a management fee, you'll receive a notice explaining the fee structure
Management Fees vs. Subscription Fees
It's important to understand the difference between:
- Subscription Fee: Pays for the technology and administration of the dub platform
- Management Fee: Compensates the portfolio managers for their expertise and ongoing portfolio management
Your dub subscription alone does not cover management fees for Premium Portfolios that charge them.
Fee Collection Process
How Fees Are Deducted
Management fees are deducted directly from your account at the end of each quarter. The process works as follows:
- Fees are calculated daily based on your portfolio's market value
- The cumulative amount is charged quarterly
- The fee is deducted from your available cash balance
Insufficient Funds Scenario
If you don't have enough cash available in your account to cover management fees:
- dub Financial will instruct dub Financial to sell a portion of your copied portfolio
- Only the amount necessary to cover the fees will be sold
- You'll receive a notification if this occurs
